Alcohol Detoxification

SUSIDAmedical offer private medically assisted alcohol detoxification. If you or your loved one would like support with this please contact our experienced team for a free consultation.

There are 3 main types of drinkers:

    • Low risk drinkers - these are drinkers who consume alcohol within the recommended amounts at units a week for both men and women

    • Increased risk drinkers - individuals who consume from 14 - 28units a week

    • High risk drinkers - are those who consume from 28units and more a week

Some high risk drinkers may consume over 10 units a day and find that when they try and stop drinking they experience physical withdrawal symptoms.

Alcohol withdrawals are characterised by some of the symptoms below, which often manifest once an individual stops drinking suddenly or reduces their drinking suddenly.

These symptoms are: mild or marked hand tremor, nausea and vomiting, sweating excessively, increased anxiety and nausea.

It is these individuals who will require a medically assisted detox.

You will be screened for free to ascertain suitability through giving us your details on our contact us page.

Following an assessment and if suitable for a home detox then we will prescribe medication that helps address the withdrawal symptoms. A member of the team will visit you daily to support you throughout the detox process which may take up to a week or longer.

Our team of experts will also offer you relapse prevention support. We also offer relapse prevention packages post detoxification so please speak to a member of our team about this.
